Our passion for good food is boundless, and our menu is based on authentic Italian dishes made from the freshest ingredients sourced locally.
Il Piccolo Mondo in Bottisham is the third of its name: the first one founded in Newmarket 23 years ago. We bought the building in 2011 and converted it into a cozy, tranquil Italian restaurant with a beautiful South facing terrace to enjoy outdoor meals during the warmer months.
We take great care to preserve the authenticity of our food by concentrating on the details; our pasta is prepared daily and our seafood — fish, king prawns, king scallops, sea bass, turbot and lobster among others — are delivered fresh every day. Our homemade spaghetti with fresh lobster has become a signature dish much prized by our regulars.
Owners Polly and Elio are equally passionate about Italian cuisine. Polly is the restaurant manager and Elio is our inimitable head chef!
The Bottisham site has — in its nearly two centuries of existence — been utilised as a church school, community centre and now a popular Italian restaurant. The building has a long tradition of community and hospitality, one that we continue to uphold to this day.
